The 7th policy and technical workshop is held in Chinese Taipei, attended by 12 APEC economies (Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam).
The working group (Australia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea and Singapore) meets for the first time in Perth, Australia, to discuss technical issues relating to implementation of the passport.
Following the workshop, economies are invited to form a working group that would develop the detailed technical arrangements. Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and Singapore accept this invitation.
The 6th policy and technical workshop takes place in Hanoi, Vietnam, to address outstanding technical and governance issues for the passport. Thirteen APEC economies attend (Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam).
